There was a lot of hype surrounding Cabinets & Closets Conference
& Expo 2017 – and the annual conference and expo didn’t disappoint!
Closets & Organized Storage and the ACSP worked very hard to
create more educational tracks, more networking opportunities and
more value than ever before.
Chris Stevens, one of the original developers of the Keurig coffee
cup, started the conference. No matter the size of your company, he
connected with everyone in the crowd and energized the group.
Then we split into three educational tracks – closets, cabinets or
lean manufacturing. Attendees were able to float from one track to
During intermission you could hear people comparing notes and
sharing takeaways from each track.
After the sessions we loaded the buses and got a behind the
scenes look at the Inter Ocean Cabinet Company.
And we finished the day with cocktails at the Cabinet & Closet
Day 2 started with the Ideation Breakfast sponsored by Osborne.
It was a great breakfast and another chance for attendees to share
ideas and recap the previous day.
There were free educational sessions all day long including
“Emerging Online Trends for Cabinets and Closet Companies”
taught by Lauren Mobyed from Google and Todd Bairstow from
For the first time ever the ACSP made it possible to test to be
a Registered Storage Designer. We are happy to announce that we
have 12 new Registered Designers.
We ended Day 2 with a red carpet event – The Top Shelf Closet
Design Awards Reception hosted by Richelieu. Nothing puts a
smile on your face quicker than a cocktail and posing for pics on
the red carpet.
The final day of conference had attendees discussing trends in
hardware, technology and visiting the show floor one last time.
ACSP is happy to announce that Joe Lonardo is the new President, Wendy Scott is President Elect and we have three new board
members – Lisa Carlquist, Denise Butchko and Mike Zary.
We are keeping the momentum going with free monthly webinars
and look forward to seeing you next year in Pasadena.
